What we grow

We grow over 18 types of vegetables and over 40 varieties. In the fall of 2012 we added on a greenhouse with radiant heat floor (heated by our wood boiler). In the 2013 season we’re looking to add on perennial vegetable beds, a berry patch and a collection of culinary herbs.

Although we’re not certified organic, we try to use as many organic gardening practices as possible. We don’t use any synthetic biocides, insecticides, growth hormones, GMO’s or antibiotics in our soil or on our plants. We work to build the soil through crop rotations, cover crops in the winter, mulching, a drip irrigation system, composting, organic amendments and fertilizer.

In 2013 we’re looking to grow:

  • corn
  • bush beans
  • sugar snap peas
  • tomatoes
  • cucumbers
  • winter squash
  • pumpkin
  • leeks
  • lettuce
  • spinach
  • kale
  • zucchini
  • hot pepper and sweet pepper
  • edemame
  • ground cherries
